Love is in the air and I'd thought I'd share my
design ideas on the heart shaped diamond
ring that was in our latest wishlist.
This design had been in my mind for quite
some time until I finally transferred it to paper.
I loved this heart shaped diamond because of
its size and perfect symmetry.
What I was aiming for was a romantic yet
modern design, showcasing how beautiful a
heart shape diamond can be with some simple
yet detailed design encasing it.
I wanted the setting white gold to promote
the size and shape of the stone but still be
With the 18ct yellow gold band in the shape of
a heart, it was then split and channel set with
floating graduating diamonds.
The heart shaped band is very comfortable to
wear and doesn't spin on the finger.
This ring would make a great right hand
cocktail ring or an amazing engagement ring.
If I designed a wedding band I would make it
the same heart shaped band with tapered round
diamonds channel set all the way across.
The most difficult part of the design was
setting the centre diamond in the chamfered
setting but I wanted something original and new.
Sometimes when you design things on paper
you are disappointed in real life, this was
opposite,I was absolutely happy with the way the
piece looks and feels.
This ring will go to a romantic, that's for sure!
Tom Jones packs in
Much-loved entertainer Tom
Jones, 69, showed no sign of
slowing down when he took to
the stage for a Day on the Green Sirromet
Winery, Mt Cotton, last month.
He thrilled the rain-drenched fans with
classic songs like What's New, Pussycat?
"I want to continue writing songs and
creating records, and I want to perform
until my voice no longer enables me to do
so, "Jones said while on tour.
"I have this God-given gift to sing and
want to make the most of it. I don't want
to retire, what would I do if I retired!"
His support acts were David Campbell
and the Wolfgramm Sisters.
